Every year, us kids go in on a birthday present for mom. It is not that we are cheapskates – quite the opposite. Together, we can get better birthday presents for mom then we can on our own. Each of us have different tastes, and each of us have limited financial resources. When we pool them, we can come up with the best birthday gifts for mom. She is always surprised and delighted, and unlike most women her age, she looks forward to her birthday. It is all because of us and our generous gift giving.
We actually take turns picking out the birthday present for mom. This year, it was my turn to pick. I was full of ideas, but none of them seemed quite right. I thought a great birthday present for mom would be a new painting. She absolutely loves art, you see. When we grew up, she used to have art and craft projects with us all the time. When I was a kid, I often thought that she liked to do art even more than we did. She still does some art, but she does not do it nearly enough any more. I thought that if I got a painting as a birthday present for her, it would remind her of her lost passion for making beautiful things.
Unfortunately, I could not find the perfect painting. Getting a piece of art as a birthdaypresentformom can be very difficult. She has very specific tastes, and I cannot always tell if something would be to her liking. Sometimes I'm very surprised. Once I got a birthday gift for mom that I thought was lovely. It was a small sculpture carved all out of Onyx that I thought she would adore. Needless to say, she did not like it. She tried to be polite, but I could tell the birthday present for mom had flopped.
Eventually, after considering many different ideas, I settled on what I thought was the perfect birthday present for mom. It was a box set of Janis Joplin cds. She loved Janis Joplin, and used to play her on tape for us all the time when we were kids. I figured that I could not go wrong with this birthday present, and I was right. She adored it, and thanked all of us profusely. It was one of the best birthdays that I can remember, and that is a fact!
Birthday Presents for Mom Birthday and Party
Our mothers are phenomenal. Well, there may be exceptions, but if your mother is anything like mine, then she's an outstanding individual. I didn't really see this until after high school, but now days I see it clearer than ever. My mother was always there when I grew up. She took care of me, even when I was annoying and bratty. She struggled to purchase me the nicer things, even though she couldn't afford them for herself; she cleaned up after me, cooked for me, and even nurtured me when I got food poisoning at the age of 17. This is why mothers are amazing. They never stop taking care of their babies. You know your mother is something special when you look down to see her scrubbing your vomit out of the carpet, even when you're practically grown-up. This is why I feel it's imperative to never forget our mothers. Especially when it's birthday time. Have you picked out birthday presents for mom this year?
I love to go all out when it comes to selecting birthday presents for mom. If anyone deserves something wonderful, it's her. Think of how many years she took care of you and tried her best to raise you right. It's pay-back time. Once we grow into adults, we no longer need our mothers to care for us. The role actually gets reversed. There may even come a time when she can't care for herself. This is when you step in with a helping hand. You now take on the care-giver role.
Your mother lives with you and you do the providing. At least this is how it was/is for me. Now, when it comes to my mother's birthday, gifts can be a bit tricky. But, I know have a process for purchasing birthday presentsformom. I watch the daily things she does and enjoys. What does she spend her time doing and what makes her happy. This is easy with my mother. She loves to read and she loves coffee. This year it was a synch deciding on birthday presents for mom. I bought her a Starbuck's gift card. Now she can hit up the coffee shop and enjoy her lattes without having to fork out her retirement cash. As many of us know, this is never as much as we'd like it to be.
What about your mother? You probably already know all her interests and past-times. What brings her pleasure? Is it a morning latte, or a membership to the local museum? Pay attention and you'll certainly come up with a great birthday present for mom.
